If you do not see you’re in need of Christ, you will not come to Him for the forgiveness of your sins. If you do not believe the bad news that without Christ there is no hope of salvation, then you will not believe the good news that Jesus and Jesus alone can and will forgive your sins, if you repent of them and turn from sin to Christ.
If you are already a Christian, we need to close the gap between what we believe and how we live. Your beliefs will affect your behaviour for good or for ill. All Christians need to become more Christ-like, to walk with God more consistently. We need to desire and to delight in God with greater intensity. We also must hunger and thirst after Him as the deer longs after the water brooks. This is enjoying God and the beauty of His holiness and cultivating His presence daily.
If you delight in God and His Word, you will be like a tree planted by streams of water which yields its fruit in season. Jesus upon that cross, that fruitful tree, makes it all possible. Pluck that fruit of His grace and live forever. I pray that you would do this.
In Christ, Pastor Gary
