The Death and Resurrection of Christ

The death and Resurrection of Christ bookends The Gospel/The Good News.

How do these two crucial teachings impact every single person?

It is appointed for a person to die once then the judgement. (Hebrews 9:27)

Jesus died your death and mine. Refusal to receive the free offer of Grace upon sincere repentance will eventually result in the destination of hell, which is called the second death.

THE BAD NEWS

But obedience to the answer found in Jesus alone leads to the destination of heaven.

THE GOOD NEWS

The question is did Jesus really die? There are many irrefutable proofs but I would only like to mention one.

When one of the soldiers pierced Jesus side with a spear…blood and water came out. Why?

A. A short sword pierced the Lords Heart.

What about the Resurrection? No Resurrection=No future=No hope.

B. A BIG BOULDER. Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. (John 20:1) This boulder could have weighed over a ton, and was rolled downhill into the tomb opening. In Matthew 28:18 & 19 Jesus and His fellow disciples confirmed His final words before He returned to His Father. “All authority in Heaven and on Earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the Name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.”

Neither a cruel cross or a sharp sword or a big boulder could keep Jesus in the grave.

If you see your need of Jesus…the Holy Spirit has been working in you to open your heart and to heed these words: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

C. This is a Tremendous Transformation which can be experienced by anyone. If you do this then you can sing that popular hymn with the untold multitudes of Christians.

“You ask me how I know He lives…He lives within my heart.”
