A team of doctors harvested a heart from a donor. It was placed in a cooler and kept on ice. It was then rushed to the hospital. Upon arrival the dying patient’s heart was removed. The physicians connected all the blood vessels to the new heart, as it was then given an electric shock. It started beating and began producing blood. The happy patient then returned home with a new heart and a new start in life.
This is exactly what happens when any man, woman or child is spiritually born again. In Ezekiel the Lord says, “I WILL GIVE YOU A NEW HEART AND PUT A NEW SPIRIT IN YOU. I WILL REMOVE YOUR HEART OF STONE AND GIVE YOU A HEART OF FLESH.” (Ezek. 36:26)
This is simply and profoundly a new spiritual heart transplant from Jesus, the Great Physician of the Heart and Soul. The difference is there is no danger or risk involved, as the loving Lord Jesus has a 100% success rate. “A healthy heart pumps blood to the body as a Spiritual Heart pumps Spiritual Blood to the Soul.” (Steve Lawson)
Another name for this is the term Born Again. Jesus said to everyone, “YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN.” (John 2:7) This is a DIVINE MUST. This is not to be compared to a newly renovated house. Some would loosely call this Born Again. This is a New Structure and a New Foundation. This is Brand New.
This is a wonderful miracle beyond explaining and it must be experienced in the here and now. Who brings it about? – The Holy Spirit. Who needs it? – Everyone. Why must they have it? – They cannot see the Kingdom of God without it. (John 3 vs 1-10)
This is both a commandment and a free offer of grace, that whoever comes to Christ, they will never be cast out. It is to the Glory of God. Flesh gives birth to flesh and spirit gives birth to spirit. Have you had this Spiritual Transplant? Are you Born Again by the Spirit of God? Do you have the assurance that whatever life throws at me I belong to Jesus, my Saviour and Lord, My Body and Soul forever?
Do you see your absolute urgent need for this miracle of miracles? Life is so uncertain. We often procrastinate until the decision we planned on making never actually happens. In this situation, if not acted upon, it will be too late…forever too late.
Many people who have health or heart issues never make it through life. There is no certainty that they will, percentages are played that are never in their favour. None of us have the guarantee of seeing tomorrow. But with the Great and Loving Physician it is not complicated at all. Just confess your sins to the Lord and invite Jesus into your heart.
YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN, I MUST BE BORN AGAIN, EVERYONE MUST BE BORN AGAIN TO EXPERIENCE ETERNAL LIFE IN CHRIST. (John 3 vs 3)
